Alchemy of the Altar
Alchemy of the Altar is the title of our workshop series that explores the foundations of Andean shamanism through the practice of creating a Personal Healing Altar or Mesa.
This ancient altar tradition works with nature spirits and earth allies for directing energy in our lives consciously. Through the challenges that life may present, a Mesa becomes: an anchor, holding our highest intentions and prayers; a way to connect with the sacred and the sacredness of day-to-day life; a language of signs and symbols, holding and communicating with our creative essence; a mirror of our values at any given time and a representation of our spiritual body; a source of power.
Our practice with the Mesa comes from the ancient mesa traditions of the Q’ero people in the Andes of Peru, introduced to us by mentors Maestro Puma and Don Kucho. As Maestro Puma shares, The Mesa is like your external battery. It is the heart outside of your heart. You don’t need to take on the heaviness of the world. You can process it through the Mesa. From a Western lens, the altar can also be viewed as a valuable tool for self-growth, bringing forth practices of Mindset and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). The workshops explore many universal themes inclusive of all backgrounds and spiritual or non-spiritual persuasions. Working with a Mesa is a process in which we consciously attend to our minds – sowing the seeds, nourishing growth, pulling out the weeds.

Alchemy of the Altar: Foundations
5 Week Online Course starting Tuesday, 20th August 2024
An introduction to working with the principles of Shamanism (earth-based spirituality) through the Andean Altar tradition – the mesa – in daily life.
Throughout these 5-weeks, you will learn the Alchemy of the Mesa so you can create and work with a personal healing medicine altar to ground and align with our highest values and truth.
